Esther Series (5)-When He Saw Queen Esther

Esther Series (5)
“When He Saw Queen Esther”
Esther 5:1–14

Due to Haman's scheme, a decree was issued to annihilate the Jews, and Esther had to make a decision concerning her own life and that of her people. Following Mordecai's suggestion that perhaps she had become queen for such a time as this, Esther resolved to act and fasted for three days along with the Jews. After preparing through prayer, she courageously approached the king without his summons to prevent the destruction of her people. The king, upon seeing Esther, was pleased and extended his golden scepter, indicating his acceptance. He further promised to grant her any request she might have. Instead of immediately pleading for her people's salvation, Esther wisely invited the king and Haman to two banquets, awaiting the most opportune moment.

Throughout this process, Esther likely faced tension and anxiety in the face of potential death. Similarly, in life, we encounter crises that cannot be avoided. Due to human sin, the order of God's creation has been disrupted, making the world a challenging place where smooth living seems abnormal. Therefore, when faced with crises, do not be surprised or dismayed. Remember that overcoming such challenges requires courage and perseverance. In doing so, the desire to overcome obstacles will arise within us.

Esther did not hastily or emotionally respond when the king asked for her request. She did not act impulsively without preparation but instead planned wisely, created opportunities, and waited for the right time. Her ability to do so stemmed from her time in prayer, where she contemplated, prepared, and planned. Filled through prayer, she maintained composure and approached with confidence and calmness.

Jesus Christ also made a resolute decision in prayer, saying, “If I perish, I perish,” and followed the Father's will to the point of death. He entered into the depths of human sin and, even before the powers and rulers of the world, remained unwavering, walking the path of the cross as determined by the Father. As we live our lives, crises and dangers will come, bringing moments of tension. Carry what the Lord provides in prayer and step back into those places of crisis and danger. Just as He guided Esther, the Lord will guide us.

1. He Will Bring You Through It

Through Esther, God shows us that even in moments of crisis, His favor rests upon His children. Just as the king was pleased with Esther, we, having Jesus Christ within us, also possess God's favor. In times of tension and anxiety, He fills us with Himself, enabling us to stand with composure and boldness, receiving not only the world's favor but also His guidance. He will lead you through those situations, allowing Jesus to shine within them. Confess that you will stand in faith where you are and transform that place into one for God's kingdom. God will establish it firmly, filling it with assurance and peace through His protection and grace.
